Dr. Brent Johnson, Practice Owner
Dr. Johnson earned his doctorate at Iowa State, and then returned to his native home in the Pacific Northwest to share his passion for medicine. He focuses on preventative medicine and owner education for small animals, birds, and exotics. Dr. Johnson also specializes in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery using the latest technologies and procedures. An active family man, Dr. Johnson also enjoys sports and fishing. His family also shares their home with Squire the pug, Cabo the blue-fronted Amazon, and Chub-Chub and Snowflake the hamsters.
Dr. Michelle Nemeth
Dr. Nemeth has been with Northwest Animal Care since 2006. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University. She is passionate about working up challenging internal medicine cases and performing surgery. She grew up in Southern Idaho but loves it here in Western Washington. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Nemeth enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching men's college basketball and staying fit with various activities.
Dr. Laura Robertson
Laura Robertson has been a practicing veterinarian for over five years. She moved to the Pacific Northwest from southern Idaho to attend college and has been here since. Before becoming a veterinarian she spent four years in the biomedical field. Dr. Robertson received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University, graduating at the top of her class. She enjoys internal medicine, clinical pathology and surgery. Away from the hospital she leads an active lifestyle, enjoying activities like running, camping, hiking and skiing.
Dr. Michaelle Purdee
Dr. Michaelle Purdee graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia as a veterinarian in 2012. After vet school she went on to be a surgical intern at VCA Animal Specialty Center of South Carolina and the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. Since her internship she has worked in emergency care and has researched many subjects ranging from antibiotic therapy to avian medicine. In 2015 we sought out Dr. Purdee and recruited her to the northwest. Her free time is spent hiking, camping and anything outdoors. Dr. Purdee has two cats named Nala and Tamara.
DR. JOSHUA POWELL
After graduating high school, Dr. Powell enlisted in the Navy. When his tour of duty was complete, he enrolled in Clemson University where he earned his undergraduate degree. During this time, Dr. Powell worked as a veterinary assistant and found his love for the challenges of Veterinary medicine. He then went on to Colorado State for Veterinary School. When he is not at work, he loves snowboarding, watching Netflix, hanging out in Greenwood and playing with his cat Simon.
