Our veterinarians recommend pets receive a thorough wellness exam at least once a year, however senior pets and those with ongoing medical conditions are encouraged to be seen more frequently. Your veterinarian will discuss individual healthcare, vaccinations and parasite prevention recommendations based on risk factor, age and lifestyle.

Northwest Animal Care Hospital's highly skilled veterinarians are proficient in the most up to date orthopedic surgical techniques. Following surgical correction your pet's surgeon will develop a thorough rehabilitation plan to reduce pain, inflammation and recovery time. Our more common orthopedic procedures available include:

  • Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO)
  • Medial Patella Luxation (MPL)
  • Cranial Cruciate Ligament repair (CCL)
  • Fracture repair and Bone plating

We are excited to announce that we now offer Tibeal Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) here in our state-of-the-art hospital!

Laser Surgery

All the doctors at Northwest Animal Care Hospital perform laser surgery for the comfort of your pet.  Using the laser for surgery allows your pet to recover more quickly with less bleeding, less pain and less inflammation.

We all know how important dental care is for humans but in many ways proper dental care is even more important to dogs and cats.  Regular dental cleanings are a vital part of the overall wellness plan for your pets.  When regular dentals are not provided, bacteria from the mouth can actually enter into the bloodstream and damage internal organs.

Northwest Animal Care remains at the forefront of new technologies and advanced treatment planning.  We are one of the very few hospitals in Washington State with an underwater treadmill and doctors certified in hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy has become very popular as an effective (and fun) rehabilitative treatment plan for pets recovering from surgery or with chronic inflammatory conditions. We are also among the few practices to offer stem-cell therapy and blood platelet therapy.  Read more about hydrotherapy here.

Laser therapy is a growing part of our rehabilitation program.  Continuous laser emissions act fast on inflammation, stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation and inducing absorption of fluid build up. Laser therapy also has a secondary effect with regard to pain management, which is reduced as inflammation diminishes. WATCH A VIDEO DEMO
